I love Chubby's cheesesteak w/cheese whiz and fried onions but there fries w/cheese sauce is amazing. The fries are nice and crispy and to me, pretty much perfect. The sauce...can't even explain other than the best.
Don't really care for there subs, mainly because I don't like sesame seeds and they were on my sub that I ordered.
This is definitely my place to go for cheesesteaks!! -

It's pretty common to hear locals argue about which Roxborough cheesesteak shop is the best, and few discussions get as heated as those about Chubby's and Dalessandro's.
These steak shops are located across the street from one another, and they are both truly excellent. Really, you can't go wrong with either. It's a silly thing to get heated about -- we all love great cheesesteaks!
Chubby's serves an excellent roxborough-style steak. The meat is finely chopped, and there's always a big pile of it on the griddle. One thing that sets Chubby's apart: they have a much wider menu. Particularly, they sell great french fries.
If you want a great afternoon, get yourself a Chubby's cheesesteak with a side of curly fries. There's just something about the crispy curly fries that complements the steak perfectly; once you get it this way you won't want to go back.
Just don't buy a steak from Dalessandro's and then take it across the street to get curly fries from Chubby's. That's just tacky. -

Since very young, the best! Grew up in G-Town but this is where we'd go. Every week. The very best!!I've been out city 20+ years, I go get my steaks here!!
Curly fries, regular fries, all good. Plenty meat, kind wait staff, clean, quick moving, friendly.

No other steak sandwich compares! The proof is in the photo. These sandwiches weigh a pound and are chock full of shaved ribeye and can be filled with just about everything except the kitchen sink.
They also make cannolis in house. -

My Favorite in Philly. Always preferred Chubs over Deli's, Lived in Philly my whole life til I moved to Jersey about 8 years ago but wanted to take my Daughter over here to eat while visiting family.
Cheesesteak hoagie w/provolone, raw onions and Mayo along side an order of Curly cheese fries here is my go to. The Kid got chicken fingers oh well (her loss). Took a while to get the Grub but didn't disappoint.
Ok, details....Cheesesteak was solid as always. Packed with meat cooked just right. Fluffy not greasy or wooter logged roll not to steamed or mushy. Not to much LTO and it was on the bottom, which is how it's done! Glad to see they still have 5 star Cheesesteaks. Curly cheesefries although delicious as always, they definitely skimped compared to a few years back. They were still awesome, could have had more and could have been cooked a little longer but my Daughter didn't want them, so I ate them all that tells you how much I was bothered by the little things.
TLDR;
Cheesesteak- 5 stars
Curly Cheese Fries- 4 Stars
5 Star review because honestly it's all about the CHEESESTEAK! and a really good one is hard to come by.
